Dr. Alan Rosenthal, the founder of DIHRA, received his Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry (DMD) degree from the University of Pennsylvania, where he was Editor-in-Chief of the Penn Dental Journal, followed by a two year residency in advanced treatment of oral pulpal pathology from the New York University School of Dentistry. He received an appointment as a Commissioned officer with a United States Public Health Service -Navy program at Elmendorf Air Force Base in Anchorage, Alaska. He has been in private practice in Norwalk, Connecticut since 1994.

Dr Rosenthal's academic appointments: Assistant Dean Global Health and Community Outreach, Touro College of Dental Medicine; Assistant Clinical Professor, New York University; Adjunct Assistant Clinical Professor, New York Medical College.

 

Dr. Rosenthal has self-funded 17 medical missions over a 20-year span to provide free medical services to underserved communities including: Alaska, Haiti, Ecuador, Israel, the Dominican Republic, the Brazilian Amazon, Peru, and Kenya (Kibera).
